What’s Happening

We rang in the New Year with our Sunshine Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Party, the perfect way to celebrate 2025.

Our Sunshine children are on the nice list, spreading smiles, joy, and a little holiday magic along the way.

We enjoyed celebrating Chanukah with themed activities, including donut-decorating contests, dreidel games, and our nightly menorah lighting.

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had! The kids created adorable turkey hats, crafted handprint turkey potholders, watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade, enjoyed holiday story time, and played unit bingo. We were especially excited to gift the handprint potholders to staff who joined in our Thanksgiving games and puzzles. The day was filled with laughter, smiles, and plenty of fun prizes.

Halloween at Sunshine was a real treat! From adorable costumes to our annual pumpkin decorating contest, it was a day filled with fang-tastic fun!

So glad we were able to “carve out” some time to take our littlest pumpkins apple and pumpkin picking at Wilken’s Fruit and Fir Farm!

Our Sunshine kids took a trip to the wild side! The children had a ‘zooper’ fun time exploring the Bronx Zoo while making some furry friends and wild memories along the way.

Our Miracle League crew hit the field with pure joy. Sending a huge shoutout to our awesome players: Sawyer, Myracle, Joy & Zawadi; plus, Team Captains Ken & Lau; Nurse Symone, and volunteer Owen from Fordham Prep for making this first game day unforgettable.

The Annual Sunshine Art Show was a work of art! From paintbrushes to sponges, loofahs, music, and even tiny toes, our little artists created masterpieces as unique as they are. Each splash of color celebrates imagination and joy.

On July 23, a group of Sunshine children had a blast at the Saint Augustine Roman Catholic Church Festival in Ossining. From riding on the Ferris Wheel to winning giant stuffed animals with hand-over assistance (and a lot of cheering) from our fantastic staff!
