Camp Sunshine – August 21, 2023
On August 21st, a group of Sunshine children participated in a fun-filled swimming experience at Camp Sunshine, located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Camp Sunshine is a beautiful, serene property nestled in the hills of Dutchess County. The smiles on the children’s faces were priceless. We all had an amazing time swimming and soaking in the sunshine.
Annual Art Show in the Clubhouse
The Therapeutic Activities Department hosted its Annual Art Show in the Sunshine Clubhouse (Art Gallery). All the children participated in creating beautiful masterpieces using various mediums such as paint, markers, and tissue paper while engaging in the hand-over-hand method. The show ran from August 29 to September 2.
Our Sparkle and Shine Spa is Now Open!
On July 31, our Sparkle and Shine Spa opened! We held our first-ever Spa Birthday Bash! The children indulged in the ultimate birthday experience as they were pampered with manicures, pedicures, massages, and hair styling. It was a day of relaxation, with gentle scents, soft robes, and calming music. The special day was filled with giggles and smiles as we celebrated their birthdays in style.
Megan’s Class School Play in the Kids Clubhouse
On June 1st, the Sunshine children and staff, as well as some family members gathered in the Kids Clubhouse to watch the school play. Megan O’Sullivan’s class and PNW BOCES outdid themselves! After over two months of preparation and practice, they presented: “Tommy O’Tom in a Tub O’Trouble.” The scenery, the props, and the costumes were spectacular! All the children in Megan’s class were active participants in the play using their switches to say their lines or to make the play interactive. It was so much fun seeing the children in their adorable costumes. The play was enjoyed by all!…
