Thank you, Governor Kathy Hochul, for your support of Bill S776 and for helping protect the rights and well-being of children living in specialized pediatric facilities. Your leadership is helping create a more compassionate and seamless path forward for these young adults and their families.

The Kids Clubhouse for Learning & Play Big smiles and endless fun at The Kids Clubhouse for Learning & Play at Sunshine! Our new on-site employee daycare is officially buzzing with energy, and our staff’s children are having an absolute blast! We’re thrilled to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally enriching space for our employees’ children.

Our July 4th was filled with smiles, laughter, and patriotic fun! We sang our favorite patriotic songs, created colorful firecracker paintings, and enjoyed exciting ball games together. It was a joy to celebrate Independence Day with so much creativity, team spirit, and shared happiness. Our amazing staff also enjoyed a delicious BBQ, making the day even more special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration such a success!

Sunshine’s preschool celebrated its Class of 2026 graduates on June 18 in a joyful ceremony filled with smiles. Each child was introduced and received their diploma. Mr. Jeremy and Ms. Rachel shared touching highlights of each graduate’s growth, achievements, and special moments from their time in preschool. It was a beautiful send-off that celebrated how far these little learners have come and the bright futures ahead. Congrats, grads!

Sunshine was once again delighted to receive a special gift: student-authored children’s books! A heartfelt thank you to George DeGaetano, faculty advisor for the Creative Writing Club at The Montfort Academy in Mt. Vernon, NY, for bringing his students to Sunshine to personally deliver their work. Our children absolutely love listening to the wonderfully creative and imaginative stories written just for them. The joy, connection, and inspiration these visits bring are truly priceless.

Our kids have been soaking up the perfect weather and are all smiles, enjoying the merry-go-round and some volleyball fun!

The Sunshine kids had a great day on Memorial Day. We read stories and talked about honoring all who serve and have served our country. We made coloring pages, participated in Memorial Day bingo, and, as the rain passed and the sun came out, went out to the playground for some fresh air, fun, and bubbles!

The New Horizons Group is enjoying the beautiful weather at Croton Point Park!

The Easter Bunny hopped into Sunshine on Sunday, bringing sweet moments of joy, laughter, and a little extra magic to our incredible children.
