Volunteer Julianna Breyer Earns Presidents Volunteer Service Gold Award

Julianna (“Jules”) began her volunteer service at Sunshine in August of 2014 while in her junior year at Yonkers High School. During her tenure, Jules has supported many departments but her favorite is working with the babies in the Cuddles Club. Jules has rocked, consoled and comforted many babies, providing support to the nursing staff and assurances to parents that their babies are well attended. Jules is now in her second year at Binghamton University, majoring in English, but still finds time for the Sunshine babies during her school breaks.

Providing nearly 500 hours of volunteer service in 2016 earned Jules the esteemed Presidents Volunteer Service Gold Award. On April 17th, Linda Mosiello, Administrator, presented Jules with her Certificate of Service, Presidents Letter and commemorative Gold Pin, with heartfelt thanks on behalf of the children, families and staff. Of her service, Jules remarked “I appreciate and value every moment I spend at Sunshine.  Volunteering here at Sunshine has brought me a type of fulfillment that I take with me through my days. Most of the time, I hold/cuddle babies, what can be better than that?!”
