Join our vibrant team at The Sunshine Children’s Home! Our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility is now open and eagerly awaiting your expertise. We’re currently seeking a per diem nurse practitioner to join us on intermittent Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical evaluations of residents for acute illnesses or changes in status.
- Facilitate the ordering and proper administration of medications.
- Provide emergency services for residents and staff as required.
- Address abnormal laboratory results and meticulously document assessments and plans.
- Coordinate and arrange resident transfers to acute care facilities as necessary, including providing written consultation and making phone calls to receiving emergency departments.
- Offer comprehensive end-of-shift sign-outs to nursing and medical staff.
- Collaborate closely with nurse supervisors to actively educate, support, and guide our dedicated staff.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current RN and NP licensure in the State of New York
- Possession of PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Completion of mandatory courses for RN license continuation, such as Infection Control and Child Abuse courses
- DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification is a prerequisite
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of pediatric nursing experience
- At least three years of supervisory experience
