National Volunteer Week (April 23-29) is a time to celebrate people doing extraordinary things through service. Sunshine would like to spotlight all of our special volunteer’s, and the impact and power volunteerism and service has on our children. We are blessed with a rich group of volunteers who come to Sunshine each day to assist with programming. Sunshine volunteers serve in many ways — from holding/rocking babies in our Cuddles Club & playing with children in afterschool activities, to visiting a child in the hospital or assisting with our Shabbos program. Special congratulations to Julianna Breyer who has earned the prestigious 2016 President’s Volunteer Service Award for her nearly 500 hours of service. This is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. Sunshine will mark this week with special recognition and notes of appreciation to all volunteers. When you see a volunteer during your next visit please extend a warm “thank you” as well. Aside from “smiles” they receive, it is our way to make ‘payment’ for a job well done!
