May is Mental Health Awareness Month

1. Value yourself
Treat yourself with kindness and respect and avoid self-criticism.
We can be our worst critic.

2. Take care of your body
Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health.

3. Surround yourself with good people
Keep a positive environment around you.

4. Give yourself
Volunteering has two benefits: for the person you are helping as well as yourself

5. Learn how to deal with stress
Exercise, sing, dance, walk, cook, read, talk, etc..

6. Quiet your mind
Meditate, pray, do yoga.

7. Set realistic goals
Sometimes we create our own stress.

8. Break up the monotony
Routines and organization keep us focused, but change can make things interesting and fun.

9. Limit/Avoid alcohol and other drugs
Alcohol and other drugs can aggravate problems and delay the issue instead of dealing with it.

10. Get help when you need it
Seeking help is a sign of strength — not a weakness.
