Make-A-Wish® grants a wish, on average, every 34 minutes to a child with a life-threatening medical condition. Wishes come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Some are heartfelt or jaw-dropping – others funny or tear-jerkers. On Sunday, August 20th, a special heartfelt wish was granted to our very own Aleks G. The complexity of this thirteen year old boys care needs was a barrier for him to travel to his homeland Armenia for a family reunion. So on August 20th , the MAW team of volunteers brought the sights sounds and tastes of Armenia to Sunshine. The children’s backyard was festively dressed in yellow, red and blue- the colors of the Armenian flag. Eseem Entertainment filled the air with Armeina songs and lunch for the family, children and staff included an array of Armenia tastes including Kufteh, Tabbouleh and Lahmacun. Delicious!! The mood was festive and the lively and enjoyed by all. It was a wonderful celebration of Aleks, his family and the Armenian culture.
