Sunshine Children’s Home is seeking a per diem Behavioral Health Specialist to support our interdisciplinary team in providing high‑quality behavioral and developmental care to medically fragile children. This consultant role focuses on assessment, staff training, and family support to strengthen treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation to the interdisciplinary team and develop behavioral treatment protocols.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments, behavioral interventions, and co‑treatments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior support plans.
- Co‑facilitate monthly Behavioral Health Rounds.
- Train frontline staff in developmental and behavioral principles and intervention strategies.
- Participate in staff and resident support programs that promote emotional well‑being.
- Provide psychoeducational support to parents and caregivers.
- Participate in care planning, family meetings, and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in medical records.
Qualifications
- LMSW or PhD required
- Experience supporting children with developmental, behavioral, or complex medical needs-2 years preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to train and coach staff in behavioral principles.
- Commitment to compassionate, family‑centered care.
Schedule & Pay
- Per diem consultant role
- $35-40 per hour, based on experience
- Flexible scheduling within program needs
